Is There Such A Thing As Being "Too Grouchy To Blog"?
Look, I can understand someone being too worn out to blog.
After all, blogger burnout is a serious problem, often resulting in bloggers falling back on the old trick of pumping out quick, newsy bits and links in lieu of substance.
How can we be expected to work the fields all day and then tap out insightful commentary on the human condition, with a wit-tinged subtext calling out for hope in a world of change?
But this I've never heard this before:
I'm too grouchy to blog today. Ever have one of "those days"?Well, actually, no.
I do grouchy really well. In fact, grouchy is why I started this blog (along with frustration, anger and fear of the "other").
Grouchy gave birth to the blogosphere, and grouchy is what keeps it going after all these centuries. Without grouchy and high speed cable internet access, we'd be North Korea.
Reportedly, someone said that a grouchy person started the greatest blog ever.
But you didn't hear it from me.

The bloggers were neither Syrian nor lesbian nor female, and according to my readers, the Republican Debate was not a debate.

Meet Michael Alan
Since Kathleen is away for the summer rubbing shoulders with the big boys and girls at The Wall Street Journal, I'm using this opportunity to add Michael Alan to the roster.
Michael is from Lewisburg, PA, and is entering his second year at Cornell's School of Industrial and Labor Relations (where she works). Michael already has cut his baby blogging teeth at the Cornell Insider, the blog of the conservative Cornell Review. Michael's post about Keith Olbermann's recent visit to Cornell got him a HotAir link, which is enough to addict anyone to blogging.
Michael also is active in the Cornell Republicans, and this summer will be interning at the conservative National Center for Public Policy Research.
When Michael first contacted me, he wrote: "I'm an admitted news junkie, especially when it comes to politics, and I read LI pretty regularly." Yeah, I'm that easy. A few pats on my back, and you're in.

In the comments to my post about the inaccurate reaction to Sarah Palin's comments about Paul Revere, Taylor Marsh posted the following:
This post is representative of what's wrong with our politics on both sides of the aisle.Pointing out that a statement which has been widely portrayed as inaccurate may actually be accurate is "offer[ing] cover"? I don't think so.
The lengths some people will go to in order to offer cover to politicians, whether it's Palin or Obama, who actually deserve the ridicule they're receiving at the moment.
It's what bloggers should be doing.
