Travel to Cancer Survivors course

Posted by buRkAy on 14 Haziran 2011 Salı , under , , , | yorum (0)

A victim of cancer has turned its back on the medical profession and has survived his cancer naturally. It provides history and a step by step diet plan and a weekly schedule so that others like her can start immediately and benefit from incredible research.

Check it out!

Awareness Wednesday

Awareness Wednesday is hosted by Diamond Potential, a marvellous blog I found last weekend at my weekend blog hop! I immediately wanted to link up to this fabulous linky as there are a few causes which demand attention, that are also dear to my heart.

The cause I'm supporting this week is

Adult Survivors of Child Abuse

It's a personal cause of mine, as you may have learned when I supported the Blog Carnival of the same name, on the 26th January. Indeed, it's a monthly event which I will continue to support.

The thing is, it's not a rare phenomena. It's not always committed by dad's and siblings, nor strangers in macs. It's everywhere - neighbours, friends, baby sitters, teachers, priests, social workers, doctors and nurses: Everywhere!! Most of the 'survivors' live half-lives, dissociated from the part of them which is young and scared, and impossible to heal and integrate. As I do....  Even now.

A poem called...

Even Now

Even now you are there... in my bile, in my spit, in my sweat.  I smell you, your reeking flesh............
...........................when my darling husband looks to me for a loving caress... when he blesses me with his sweet kiss, when he turns to make love to his polluted wife.....I feel you.... deep down within, even now?

What follows is a Flash Fiction story which some may find disturbing

Little Jimmy.
Look at little Jimmy; so pale and small. The perfect picture. I’d barely feel him bouncing on my knee. I can imagine his bright green eyes looking up at me, vulnerable and willing.

Such innocence summons me, mocks me.

And yet their usefulness is like ripened fruit; tragically brief. And once taken, they can become so... clingy. I had nothing left for Peter at seventeen. I hear he’s now fabulously popular in Covent Garden, no less. He was always compliant, always very... good.
I'm sure that little Jimmy will bring joy and pleasure, even when uncertainty attempts to interfere. They do so miss their lives to begin with. It's a terrible shame. It is what it is.
By then, of course, he may have to experience a little fear in order to... secure him. Though I'd rather not. That's not to my taste; their willingness to please adds layers to the joy, you see.

But a good little boy will do as he's told... Or else. I learned that the hard way.
No, if he’s compliant we could remain friends for a long time and there will be little, if any need, for theatrics.
We’ve been friends a while now and I think it’s time we met. He is ready for me, finally. Ripe for the plucking, some might say. We'll get along superbly, I just no it.
 XBOXBoy13:
“So will U cum bak 4t SAT?”
Jimmy12:
“Yeah - if we can play your new XBOX game?”
XBOXBoy13:
“Gr8. My Dad pik U up@ the prk@2. Can’t w8.   ;-) . ”

The following Wednesday 16th Feb, I will be making you aware of mental illness and the stigma against sufferers like myself. Please leave comments below. Join in the debate - knowledge is power!

Carnival Against Child Abuse - Supporting Survivors

Posted by buRkAy on 30 Mayıs 2011 Pazartesi , under , , , , | yorum (0)

The Blog Carnival Against Child Abuse is....

Heres what Tracie says...

"The Blog Carnival Against Child Abuse is a monthly event. It's purpose is to raise awareness about the serious issue of child abuse. All forms of abuse--physical, emotional, sexual, spiritual, verbal--are discussed.

We highlight blog posts, from child abuse survivor stories and their art & poetry, to child abuse as a topic in the news media, as well as PTSD, dissociation and other areas of the abuse "aftermath" that adult survivors are forced to deal with. We link to hopeful posts about therapy, recovery and healing from abuse. All forms of child advocacy and awareness are included.

Many months we have a theme, but no matter what the theme is, we accept submissions for our regular categories:

-Advocacy and Awareness

-Aftermath

-Healing and Therapy

-In the News

-Poetry

-Survivor Stories

-Art Therapy

If you are interested in participating in the Blog Carnival Against Child Abuse, you can submit the links to your articles and blog posts at any time through the submission site form, or at fromtracie@gmail.com with "Blog Carnival Submission" in the subject line."

The next carnival is 28th January but they are monthly remember - click here to hop over to the next carnival.

What follows is one of my own 'survivor' poems, which I wrote quite a few years ago....

Tiny Tears by S Wharton

Without a self, or being
or inner strength,
I grew up to be this.
For years I fought anxiety,
I hid from thoughts
I would dismiss.
Nakedness and emptiness
without beauty or worthwhile.
                                         I came about
and grew out of
the filth
behind my smile.
And now
the ice is melting
behind it, liquid pure.
Glass reflects goodness
not the evil
there before.
In years to come remind me
                                of the shadows
left by you
As all you'll see
on my face
is a tiny tear or two.

Thank you for speaking out

 against child abuse

and for supporting survivors.

To update everyone....

Special Thanks to ALL of my Followers.

I just wanted to set aside a little time to give a specail thanks to everyone who has taken the time to follow me, between Good Friends Connect and Network Blogs - I now have 282 followers (at the time of writing this) - and I've only been blogging a few months - I'm thrilled!

NEW BLOG DESIGN IS COMING SOON

I have mentioned this but I'm looking forward to a blog re-design compliments of Scenic Glory, who's been a bit poorly lately (hugs) so I really appreciate all here hard work. I'm so excited and looking forward to getting rid of this design. The background gremlin is driving me bonkas!

REQUEST FOR GUEST AUTHORS/ARTISTS - Get into my Gallery.

Also, I'm asking all readers who think they could write something/contribute something to my guest post gallery please email me at shahwharton@gmail.com with your suggestions.  I'm looking for something no more than 1000 words, which links to any of the subjects I follow (see the little list below the title). So excited to see what ideas you have. I publish and promote the piece for two days on the homepage, then place it in the gallery.

NEW BLOG HOP STARTS HERE ON FRIDAY 28th JAN - 30th.

I'm also hosting my own blog hop over the weekend "Weekend Creation Blog Hop". It will be centred around art, so I'm not sure how busy it will get to begin with. I'd like the link ups to go to an article/story/poem/painting/photograph/you tube video you've made/anything along those lines, or a creative blog. If you're not sure - ask. It will also include linking to all the marvellous shops you have which sell things you've made, or a design blog which is promoting it's design talents - these are creative ventures afterall.

Again, any helpful ideas/advise/or a simple hello is always appreciated and warmly returned
